THURSDAY:
Today was our last day. It was a sad day for two reasons. First of all, Mike had gone home and I missed him already. Secondly, we would be going home the following morning.
I tried to have fun anyway - and what's more fun than going to Dairy Queen for an ice cream cone first thing in the morning?! Lucas, Becca and Grandpa joined us. After our "breakfast" we went to the beach. Grandpa took the place of Mike. How cute are these pictures!
Nick joined in some playtime with Natalie, too.
I guess at one point Natalie asked where I was. I'm glad I'm missed every once in awhile.
Later that evening we walked to a yummy Italian restaurant a few blocks away. Natalie didn't want a ride anymore in the stroller - she wanted to push it - which made it way convenient for keeping up with the pack. :)
While we were waiting for our dinner to arrive we walked around outside. There was a weekly merchant fair going on. Cool stuff! The main thing Natalie loved was this huge double decker wooden bus. The epitome of a hippie bus. We toured it before dinner and then again after dinner. Natalie wouldn't let me forget that she wanted to go see it again. I love that she loved this bus. I thought it was pretty cool myself!
Well, the next morning we all packed and were out of the condo by 10 am. We arrived back in Gilbert at 5:30. It was FREAKING HOT. 109 degrees at 5:30 pm, fantastic. Surprisingly, I was totally sad to be home even though I thought I wanted to be there.
Thank you Luke and Sally for providing such an AWESOME summer vacation in California. You guys are SO generous to share what you have with us. I couldn't ask for better way to make memories with the family. Natalie is one lucky duck to be in this family - well, so am I!

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little sad your trip is over. Your blog postings have been keeping me entertained. Looks like it was a fun trip! Welcome back home!
Grandpa/Natalie pictures are so, SO sweet!
That looks like such a great trip. At least I could live vicariously through you guys! :)
