Halloween Gore

Just in time for Halloween!

Isn't that awesome?! All wrapped up, it looks like a mummy. Maybe I'll draw a face on it and call it my Halloween costume.

Sorry if I grossed anyone out - I think it's fun to share. :)

The story: I was moving our trampoline (as seen below). We took the legs off of it so Natalie could just step up on it and if she fell off she'd probably not get hurt. Great idea, seriously. Anyway, my father-in-law was over doing our yard work - reseeding our lawn with beautiful winter grass (isn't he just wonderful!) - and we decided to move the trampoline over a bit to make it easier to mow the new lush grass soon to be growing. After moving it I decided it needed to be adjusted. Our lawn is VERY lumpy and if the tramp not placed just right it rocks. So I picked it up and threw it over a bit. It still wasn't level. I picked it up again and threw it - RIGHT ON MY TOE! The post which holds one of the legs landed just above the bottom of my toenail - right on the quick. Ouch! It landed so hard that it actually cut my toe all the way to the bone. Fortunately my toenail flexed and didn't get cut which probably prevented the post from cutting my toe off all the way - and at least stopped it just before it broke the bone. So, Mike took me to Urgent Care. They pulled my toenail off and put 4 big stitches to hold my toe back together. I am currently hobbling around. It feels like a big, bad hangnail. Throbs sometimes. But most of the time it's tolerable.

I feel stupid. Alisa's coworker commented saying that I'm suppose to jump on the trampoline, not the other way around. Haha. He's right. Oh well. Live and learn! :)

That picture totally gave me the chills--and it's not my first viewing of it!
Hope it heals quickly!

Ooouuucchhh! At least you have a good story to tell. I'm bummed it prevented you from coming to the farms with us. On a positive note, your foot looks very well moisturized!

I find it pretty hurtful that you would be willing to almost cut your toe off just to avoid me. I know I dont shave very often and soemtimes I smell pretty wierd but I am still a nice guy.

You missed out on the farm. Lots of dust and animal poop.

Ouch! That looks painful. Hopefully it is feeling better. Quite the war wound. Hope you are all doing well, other than your incident. We need to get together soon and let the girls play! :)

Ouch! That toe looks sore and sad and very scary in a costume.
