Okay, this post is WAY overdue. Almost unseasonable considering the 4th of July was practically a whole month ago. But I want to still share these pictures along with other ones I took while in Utah - unfortunately you'll still have to wait for those "other ones" because this one is only about the balloon launch.
Anyway, on July 3rd at 5:30 am, my sister Amy and I woke up the kids, piled in the car and drove to Provo's Freedom Festival Balloon Launch. Despite the looks on their faces (except for Sasha's - she knew it was going to be fun) these kids were soon going to find out how cool this little early morning activity really is.
Natalie wasn't as thrilled as I was hoping she'd be. It may have been the early morning rise coupled with lots of strangers and big HOT balloons - maybe she felt a little lost - but I was determined to get her in some pictures. I'm so mean sometimes!
It was really hot standing by this. We all had to step back a few feet just to tolerate it.
I love this picture with the balloons and beautiful Mt. Timpanogos in the background. I miss seeing that mountain every day!
On our way back to the car Natalie told me she wanted to do this every morning. That made me smile, confirming that waking up your 2 year old at 5:30 am can be worth it.
So, now I just have to post about the 4th of July, right? Geesh, so much has happened since then that it seems like it was months ago that we were there. Good thing I took a billion photos to jog my memory! I'll try to get to those sometime real soon. Promise!

Oh my goodness... this looks like SO much fun! I'll have to remember to take the family to this next 4th of July. And have I ever told you how much I adore Natalie's hair? Seriously - she's a doll :)

You guys were there??!!! What?!
That looks awesome! Definitely worth waking up early for. Maybe even worth going all the way to Utah for the 4th of July! The pictures of Natalie are adorable, as always!
That is so awesome. I want to go to that next year! Natalie is such a cutie, I think I say that in every post, but it is true. You have such fun summers! :)
