March Winds

So, technically it's April, but it sure has been windy the last few weeks! So windy, in fact, that we bought a couple of kites to play with. I tried flying them the last couple of days and was pretty unsuccessful. The wind was just not consistent enough to keep the kite up for more than a minute - very uneventful. Even Natalie asked me after apparently a few to many unproductive attempts if we could go inside and watch a movie. I laughed. I guess I was having more fun than she was!

Well, today there was enough wind. Mike noticed it and suggested we try again. I'm glad he was home to help Natalie with the kites so I could take pictures of them. What a fun memory this will be - wait it already is!

She's actually flying both of them here. Talented little girl, even if I do say so myself.

Near the end, Mike offered to take some pictures with me in them to prove I was there. I suggested he didn't since I wasn't at all dressed for pictures. I then thought that it shouldn't matter; it's not like I need to post any of them! But I will anyway because I wanted to tell you (with this picture) that Natalie ended up asking for a chair so she could sit while she flew her kite. Nothing's better than flying kites and not really having to do anything else but watch them. Mike obliged and also brought her out an umbrella to protect her from the sun that is already getting WAY too hot.

I have had "Let's Go Fly A Kite" in my head all day long. Good thing I like that song AND flying kites!

You guys are good. I keep telling myself we need to do that.... these winds have been nuts the last 2 weeks! Corbin has still never flown a kite, and Miss Natalie is already a pro. Love how you spontaneously lived in the moment! Amazing what our kiddos help us do.

Oh, that is so sweet! I haven't flown a kite in YEARS and YEARS!!
Natalie's hair is getting so long.
I bought that same dress for Maggie a few weeks ago--too cold to wear here right now but I thought it would be cute for our July trip to AZ!

I am so glad that Natalie FINALLY got to fly a kite! Last week that poor little girl let me know how deprived she was when she told me she "looked and couldn't find even one kite anywhere"! It sure looks fun!

She is a talented little girl in so many ways and so smart. You really are such a good mom always bringing the fun into everything and being silly and goofy. Natalie is a lucky little girl.

What amazing pictures! We went kite flying a couple of weekends back and it's fun to see how magical it is for kids. It's the small things that make the best memories. Glad you guys had fun. Ms. Natalie is such a doll!

What fun. We have a kite sitting in the garage waiting for a good day. You guys look great, even if not 'dressed up' for pictures.
